Terms of Service

These terms cover two Discord applications operated by The Merchantmen organisation: The Merchant and the Banu Translator. By inviting either bot to a server or using its commands, you agree to the points below.

What the bots do

The Merchant provides trading tools, ship and equipment reference data, and organisation features for our community. The Banu Translator translates text between English and the Banu language used in our community. Both bots respond to slash commands.

Availability

Both bots are community projects provided free of charge, as is. We aim to keep them online but we do not promise uninterrupted service, and we can change or stop either bot at any time.

Acceptable use

Do not use the bots to break Discord’s Terms of Service or Community Guidelines, to harass anyone, or to attempt to disrupt, overload, or reverse engineer the bots.

Game data

Reference data about ships, weapons, commodities, and prices reflects a video game and changes often. We do not guarantee it is complete or current. The bots are fan tools and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Cloud Imperium Games, Roberts Space Industries, or Discord Inc.

Accounts and data

Using commands creates records tied to your Discord user ID. You can ask us to delete your stored data at any time through the contact page or in our Discord server.

We may update these terms. The current version always lives on this page.
